Programme Delivery
Our Residentials are held at the Jubilee Campus, University of Nottingham.
Dates for Residentials:
2024-25
- Monday 2nd – Friday 6th September 2024
- Friday 3rd – Monday 6th January 2025
Commitment for each programme:
In addition to the two Residential blocks, there are twenty local teaching evenings, either on a Monday or a Tuesday evening (depending on the Hub location, while Flexi-GradDip students watch the teachings in their own time), between 6pm and 10pm throughout the year.
The courses are assessed by the submission of six essays throughout the year.
Year 1
In addition to the two Residential blocks, there are twenty teaching evenings, either on a Monday or a Tuesday (depending on the Hub location), between 6pm and 10pm throughout the year. As well as these Hub evenings, there will be an extra teaching event (Mini-Resi) for students in their first year:
- 21st & 22nd October 2022 at Ivy Church, Manchester (Spiritual Formation)
Year 2
In addition to the two Residential blocks, the students are only required to attend their Hub for four teaching weeks during Jan/Feb 2022. Students will receive the remainder of their teaching through three additional events (Mini-Resis) throughout the 2021-22 academic year. The details of these events are now confirmed as the following:
- 7th & 8th October 2022 at Kerith Church, Bracknell (Missiology)
- 3rd & 4th February 2023 at Woodlands Church, Bristol (Professional Formation)
- 10th & 11th March 2023 – Venue TBC (Shapes of the Church)

The Graduate Diploma in Church Planting & Leadership is assessed by the submission of six essays throughout the year.
Year 1

Year 2
In addition to the two Residential blocks, students are only required to attend their Hub for four teaching weeks during Jan/Feb 2022. Students will receive the remainder of their teaching through three additional events (Mini-Resis) throughout the 2021-22 academic year. The details of these events are now confirmed as the following:
- 28th & 29th October 2022 in Derby (Maturing a Student Ministry)
- 2nd & 3rd February 2023 in Bristol (Student Mission)
- 3rd & 4th February 2023 in Bristol (Professional Formation)
- 24th & 25th March 2023, venue TBC (Catalysing Spiritual Formation)

The Graduate Diploma in Kingdom Theology and Student Ministry is assessed by a combination of six essays or pieces of coursework.
In addition to the two Residential blocks, the MA (with 2 or 3 year taught options) is taught on two to three Teaching Saturdays each year spread throughout each year. Teaching Saturdays are held on a regional basis and students may have to travel to another Hub to receive this teaching. Flexi-MA students are able to access all of their course content online.
The course is assessed by the submission of up to six assignments per year, plus a dissertation (in the third or fourth year).

Students who are unable to make the teaching Saturdays at a local Hub may elect to do the Flexi-MA.
Hub Teaching
The unique flavour of studying with WTC is largely defined by the experience of studying locally in a worshipping and learning community known as a Hub. Hubs meet on Monday or Tuesday evenings, depending on the location, and are environments in which you can form meaningful relationships with your fellow students, have time and space to discuss the issues arising in the teaching, as well as worshipping and praying together.
In our Hubs we also facilitate an extra-curricular Personal Formation Programme (PFP) through which local experts visit a Hub to deliver a one off session that enables students to develop skills, be introduced to experts in various spheres of influence and to provide another bridge between the academic, the spiritual, and the practical.
We have returned to our pre-pandemic teaching delivery with in-person Residentials and Hub Nights. If government guidance changes we are able to move online and continue delivering high quality programmes.

A typical Hub evening looks like this:
- 6.15 pm – Arrive, chat with fellow students
- 6.30 pm – Worship and ministry time
- 7.00 pm – Watch a recorded lecture with other students – with time for discussion throughout the session
- 8.00 pm – Seminar with faculty to discuss the week’s teaching or a live extra-curricular session from a local practitioner
- 9.00 pm – Time to pray together with other students, discuss and think over the evening’s teaching
- 9.30 pm – Finish (may run to 10pm at times)

A rich variety of online resources are available through WTC’s virtual learning environment, MyWTC. This includes books, articles, lecture notes, recorded lectures, and other resources. In addition, WTC has a collection of eBooks available to all students and each Hub has a library of books available for students to borrow.
